Guess What!!

I stopped playing Wizard101 yesterday because of a craving for Neoquest II, so now I've begun playing that again.

It's a cheesy browser game, but it was the first RPG I ever played, and it encouraged me try other games, and MMOs.

You might think Aedan got his RPG legs there, but no. You know what got him playing RPGs? WEBKINS. That's not even an RPG game. I don't get it.

Oh, Fate's Twisted Ways!

Yesterday, I got home from school, and the first thoughts in my head were, Man up, Caroline. You're going to beat Briskbreeze Tower today.

So, straightening my barette and tucking in my white T-shirt, I set off to Colossus Boulevard and skipped up to the door neighboring Kirby Longspear, the gauntlet to enter the tower of Orrick Nightglider. About to press the X button I noticed a chocolate-colored wizard wearing the obvious clothes of a Diviner, purple and yellow.
"Hey," I said to the Diviner, whose name said he was Duncan Duskshield.
     "Hi," Duncan replied.
     "How is doing?" I asked.
     "Doing good and you?"
     "The same."
Just then, a Life wizard named Miguel Dawnstone ported to Duncan.
"So how about we do Briskbreeze Tower?" I asked Duncan.
     "Sounds good."
So the Theurgist, the Conjurer, and the Diviner entered the gauntlet, and began to fight the evil that Briskbreeze Tower harbored.
The other wizards were more well-versed than others by the tower, and knew what to do. I still lay awake at night wondering why Angrus Hollowsoul is the only boss other than the Wraith that can cheat...

...And we finally entered the final floor. Lieutenant Culpepper stared at me from across the room, helpless and subject to the Wraith's powers. Nobody dared to move forward. So I remembered my words from earlier that day as my Mom brought me a grilled-cheese sandwich: Man up, Caroline. You're going to beat Briskbreeze Tower today.
I took a deep breath, and ran towards Orrick Nightglider, and I stared right into his glinting evil eyes, telling him I would show no mercy tonight.
The battle started off easy, with all of us cracking jokes and building up pips. Then I used my Orthrus on the dastardly Wraith. With less health than before, Orrick made his move:

Orrick Nightglider and his sneaky Stomping tricks! And I was a bit worse for wear myself. But I remembered: Man up, Caroline. You're going to beat Briskbreeze Tower today.
The fight dragged on. A big highlight was when Duncan used Storm Lord, and knocked out the majority of the Stompers. But Nightglider and the minion on the swirly thing circle were still left standing. I finally got to heal Miguel, but that's when Duncan died, and the two survivors had little health, but I still had my courage. But unfortunately...

     Oh, fate's cruel, twisted ways!

In other news, I finally got to try out Wild West Island on Poptropica, in which a bad guy named El Mustachio (The Mustache in English) is a bad guy, and you have to get him and put him in jail. End of story.

Rift...*Groan*

I wanted SO BADLY to buy Rift before the 25th of March, but I haven't felt like asking Mom to go to the local game store yet to buy it. And there's probably no free time for the next few days, because Mom and I are making a video for a public modern arts contest in New Haven, and then on Sunday my Mom is going to GRILL me for spelling bee (we had a bit of a dispute over the word inseparable last night), and then I should get started on my agonizing homework, then Monday after school I should finish the boatload of homework I'll get from my Science teacher before I go to my saxophone lesson, and then on Tuesday, I have Hebrew school, and after that it'll be too late to go out to the store, and besides, I'll be too deep into Briskbreeze Tower to hear you by then (it's always the last boss that gets me!!).

*Sigh*

Well, I can still play it at Aedan's house :) he has the game.

Questing?

My quest list on Wizard101 is very messy.

Now look at my ESO quest list:

It's a LOT less cluttered than my W101 quest list because They are sorted into categories. So now it's EASIER to find the quest I want to track, as long as i know what category it's in. And so:

Why can't all games just do that?

And After so Many Days Without It...

I found out my why my Desktop Clients weren't working. (Like EQ2 and W101 and RS) It's because work offline was checked. But now it's NOT checked, and it has been just...fantastic.

THANK YOU LORD! [in background] Thank you lord! [in background]
I'm comin home, I'm comin home, tell the world I'm comin home, let the rain wash away, all the pain of yesterday, I know my kingdom awaits, and they've forgiven my mistakes, I'm comin home, I'm comin home, tell the world that I'm comin--

That is the worst song EVER.
That makes you an oddity.
Uh?
You stand out because everybody else likes that song. 'Xept
for you.
But it has inappropriate language in it...
So? People like that song because of Dirty Money's background singers.
...Which is the only reason people listen to Eminem.
Maybe...*Looks around suspiciously at the invisible monkeys*

Wizard101 STILL Isn't Working :(

And neither are all my other Desktop Clients

Also, in better news, Aedan came over and I showed him the comic I revealed in my last post. He thought it was funny so we made a couple.

These two are kind of based on Aedan's game Perpetuum.

Aedan drew himself in this one, which I must say looks a bit better than I can draw him. This next one Aedan drew up the whole thing, and I must say it's pretty good.

Huh. The day Aedan finally defeats me in RPG combat.
I think Perpetuum is about, like, humans have been using too much energy, and they don't have enough, and they fight a lot of organic fuels on the one planet Nia. But there are these robot things who already live on the planet who are all like, "Joo get yo hands off mah fyool. Joo get yo eyes off mah fyool. Joo get yo faaayce off mah fyool." So jump into your customizable mech and kick some robot posterior!!
Well, as it's shown in the comic before that one, I'mm not a huge fan of Science Fiction MMOs. Aedan keeps begging me to play Anarchy Online and Perpetuum, but I never really get into those.

Anyways, I'm reaaly sad about this Desktop Client thing. Lack of Wizard101 is driving me nuts!! Of couse ESO works, but whenever I click on 'Play Game', nothing happens! So I haven't been able to play it since the day I actually started playing it. That really stinks! Cuz usually if I play a game for only one day, that means I didn't like it, but I quite enjoyed ESO, and I'm longin' for it!!!

Yaaay

I decided to start making a comic, because it'll give me something to entertain you with while ya wait for my extra-special next chapter of the Diadem. It's supposed to be Rebecca and aedan adventuring together as Novices.

At the End of the Rainbow is AQW

Today none of my desktop clients were working so I was catching up with AQWorlds. Apparently it is National Pancake Week so I stopped by the Olde Inne, and I noticed a pet with the similarity to an ESO pet.

See it looks like this one:

Also, I celebrated St. Patrick's Day and rescued Roy G. Biv.

Then I entertained myself for ten seconds with an outfit I'm never going to wear again:

And then I created a new Ether Saga character named Lissenta. She's a level 3 Shenzu Conjurer.

...

What's an Invoken?

Hrmm...

Wizard101 still isn't working on this computer ;(

In other news, I started playing this game yesterday called Ether Saga Online. It's sort of a cute anime game.

In the game you game you can have feirce-but-cute pets, like a Katsu Fox or a Dewdrop Bunny. You can also transform into monsters which is awesome. I can also positively compare this game to EQ II!

(For future reference click here.)

EQ II problem:
It's hard for me to find people, monsters, or objects for quests. I usually wander around and gain several levels before I find the essential to my quest.
ES Online comparison:
On ES if you look at your quest in the quest log window, the thing you are supposed to be doing will be highlighted in green, which you can click on and your character will automatically run to that location.

EQ II problem:
I wander too much on accident and find myself in areas with high level bosses and monsters.
ES Online comparison:
With most of the essentials in the game, you can never stray too far.

EQ II problem:
If I get into a group with a higher level player, the player refuses to mentor me and I'm stuck with them for the whole day gaining no experience.
ES Online comparison:
Ehh, haven't really gotten to that part yet.

Anyways, so far I have a level 8 Renzu Ranger named Ezelle.

With My Bow and Arrow...

You know what's a good game? Sinta. It's very fun. It may have a little blood violence but it's aaa legitimate game. Ya know, little ups n downs everywhere. It's a NinjaKiwi game. NinjaKiwi sponsors Wizard101. Yep.

NOOO!

NOOO!
Can't...breathe...dying...dying...
No, it's okay, I can live without Wizard101 for a couple days.
Oh yeah, and uh, did you hear about the toddler that broke her dad's Oscar award? He must've been pretty infuriated, eh?

Uh...

Subscribe Today, or Not at All!

What a lot of gamers don't realise is if they're getting their money's worth in a lot of spots.
So then they subscribe to a game for money that could go towards a possibly better game, and not even enjoy it.
Or they are being begged to subscribe by the game company, finally give in, and find it's not what they cut it out to be.

Like maybe, a game like Mechquest or AQ for example.
So you get the full benefits for a game like AQ for 20 bucks, but you're not too much enjoying the game quality, could be a reason.

And then you've wasted 20 bucks on a game you're not gonna play, which could've gone toward two adventure-filled months in Wizard101, ninety action packed days in Runescape, or a month of fun in AQWorlds.
Or then you decided to become a Starcaptain in Mechquest, but realised you don't like Science-Fiction MMOs.
That could've become an awesome-looking character in Everquest, four months of funkiness on Club Penguin, or a kewl Dragonlord on Dragonfable. Which is why you need to look over things before you buy. Like one time Aedan's brother decided he would have a py-as-you-go account and he took Crowns for $25, only to get stuck before the Krokosphinx, which could've better been spent as a two-month subscription and 2500 crowns! Thre's a win-win oppurtunity hidden somewhere when you're stuck in front of a lose-win!

A PC Miracle

A while back, there was a bug on this computer whenever I went to play Wizard101 fullscreen, and it only showed a quarter of the screen. So then I discovered it being "not" fullscreen, and the game looked fine. So I had it like that for a couple months, and then I accidentally set it to fullscreen, and then...

Words...cannot...express...
Of  course I'm going to have to change it back to being able to see the desktop soon, because a lot of the time when Aedan comes over we both play on the same computer at the same time.

Never Really Grabbed Hold

As of now, I am no longer as active a player of EQ II.

The problem is, the game never got a firm grip on me like Runescape or Wizard101. So when I try to compare them:

EQ II   problem:
It's hard for me to find people, monsters, or objects for quests. I usually wander around and gain several levels before I find the essential to my quest.
Wizard101 comparison:
*cough* quest helper *cough*
Runescape comparison:
NPCs give specific directions and not the vague, "I need you to talk to Sentry Talvee ok bye"
EQ II problem:
I wander too much on accident and find myself in areas with high level bosses and monsters.
Wizard101 comparison:
To go most places you have to unlock them first, so you're usually stuck on one area before you level up and go onto the next.
Runescape comparison:
In the starting area all the monsters are moderate levels and they don't randomly attack you like ecounter monsters in EQ II.
EQ II problem:
If I get into a group with a higher level player, the player refuses to mentor me and I'm stuck with them for the whole day gaining no experience.
Wizard101 comparison:
If you join a group, that's not nessecarily a feature of the game and can still gain experience.
Runescape comparison:
there is a special member's server for group questing, but you can still gain experience while in a group.

Bye, EQ II. May you never waste my time with your  honeyed lies again.

End of the beginning of the end
